At Munters, we are on a mission to shape a more sustainable world through innovative climate solutions. As we continue our digital transformation, we are looking for a Product Owner & Team Lead for Embedded Systems (all genders) to join our team in Kista.
This role position combines the responsibilities of a Product Owner—guiding embedded product development with a user-centric and platform-aligned approach—with team leadership responsibilities. You will lead a team of embedded system developers, and support the collaboration with other teams and stakeholders, and play a key role in team development, performance, and motivation.
This position offers a unique chance for someone who enjoys integrating strategic product management with direct leadership of a technical team
Key Responsibilities
As Product owner:
- Own and prioritize the backlog
You will work closely with the Product Managers and Technical Product Managers to translate the product vision and roadmap into user stories and tasks, prioritize and deliver high-quality features while maintaining alignment with customer needs and technical feasibility.
- Foster a collaborative team environment
- Work closely with hardware and software developers, scrum master, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to build a cohesive team that thrives on open communication, trust, mutual respect, and shared goals. You should be able to handle and resolve disagreements constructively, ensuring that all team members are included and valued
- Align with platform strategy
- Prioritize embedded systems and platform improvements that directly impact product features or control system capabilities. Collaborate with line manager and embedded software developers to ensure platform development supports product development.
- Product support & improvements
- Handle and prioritize support cases escalated from the global service team — focusing on critical product issues and product improvements. Ensure timely resolution and clear communication with relevant stakeholders throughout the process.
- Support production tools & testing
Act as the main point of contact for the production team regarding the embedded control system, configuration tools, and end-of-line testing. Collect and assess their input and support needs, ensure clear communication on firmware releases, bug fixes, and tool updates, and prioritize their requirements in the product backlog. Collaborate closely with production to develop and improve tools and processes that support efficient and reliable manufacturing.
- Drive timely and qualitative delivery
- Collaborate with the Scrum Master role and the technical team to define user stories, ensure features are delivered on time, and meet expected quality standards.
- Validate features and user needs
Use feedback loops, testing, and analytics to evaluate feature effectiveness and guide backlog updates
As a Team Lead
- Lead and support the team
Serves as the day-to-day go-to person for team members, providing coaching, support, helping resolve blockers, and regular development dialogues.
- Foster a supportive culture
Promote a psychologically safe and collaborative environment where team members recognize being engaged, heard, and empowered
- Performance & competence development (in coordination with line manager)
Gives regular feedback and guidance on performance and development needs.
- Resource planning and recruitment (in coordination with line manager)
Supporting with identifying resource needs, supporting recruitment and onboarding.
- Act as a cultural role model
Set a positive tone, promote cross-team alignment, and be a change agent during organizational transformation.
Requirements
- Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in embedded systems or control systems
- Prior leadership experience or clear potential to take on formal people leadership.
- Thorough understanding of agile methodologies, Scrum
- Comprehensive understanding of embedded systems and their integration into product development
- Familiarity with C/C++ and embedded development practices.
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps or Jira for backlog and sprint management
- Experience in embedded system development, including working with control systems and platform improvements.
- Analytical skills with a focus on technical product development and customer needs.
- Experience handling technical support cases and collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Skilled written and verbal communications skills in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across hardware, software, and business teams
- Ability to actively listen to feedback from the team, customers, and stakeholders, and use this input to adjust the product direction when needed.
- Ability to collaborate in a diverse and cross-functional work environment to ensure alignment and that everyone is working toward the same objectives.
- Help create a productive environment that motivates team members to collaborate and share their knowledge
- Ability to make informed decisions on which features to prioritize based on business needs, user value, and technical resources is essential. This requires a balance between making quick decisions and remaining responsive to feedback and data.
- Lead the team through disagreements to align on ways of working within the team as well as with other stakeholders
- Be able to inspire the team by clearly conveying the product vision in a compelling way that encourages engagement and motivation
- Be able to make sound decisions even when not all facts are available, and act as a stable leader when the team is facing challenges.
- Skilled at balancing short-term delivery and long-term goals.
