As we expand our product offerings, we are looking for a meticulous and experienced Webhook Tester to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our webhook integrations.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Webhook Tester to join our QA and engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing webhook implementations across multiple platforms, ensuring seamless integration, and identifying potential issues before deployment. You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to enhance webhook functionality and improve our system's robustness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute test cases to validate webhook functionality, performance, and security.
  • Simulate various webhook event scenarios to assess system behavior under different conditions.
  • Monitor and analyze webhook payloads, request/response cycles, and logging mechanisms.
  • Identify, document, and report bugs, inconsistencies, and integration issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve webhook-related defects.
  • Automate webhook testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, such as authentication, encryption, and rate limiting.
  • Maintain and update test documentation for webhook integrations.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to webhooks and API testing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in testing webhooks, APIs, or real-time event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in tools like Postman, cURL, ngrok, or equivalent for webhook testing.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, RESTful APIs, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, API keys), and JSON.
  • Experience with API automation testing frameworks like Postman Collections, Cypress, Jest, or similar.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their webhook implementations.
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or similar.
  • Understanding of security considerations, including signature verification, payload validation, and rate limiting.
  • Basic scripting knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or similar for test automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
