**Role Overview** The Avocado Picker is responsible for harvesting avocados in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the quality and quantity of the crop meet the company's standards. This role is crucial to the success of the avocado farming operation, contributing directly to the supply chain and overall productivity of the farm. The picker's work ensures that only the best avocados make it to market, maintaining the company's reputation for quality. **Key Responsibilities** - Harvest avocados by hand, carefully selecting ripe fruit according to established quality standards and size requirements. - Operate and maintain harvesting tools and equipment, such as ladders, picking poles, and collection bags, ensuring they are in good working condition. - Transport harvested avocados from the field to collection points, minimizing damage and maintaining fruit integrity. - Inspect avocado trees for signs of disease or pest infestation, reporting any concerns to the supervisor to prevent crop damage. - Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the field, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Assist with other farm duties as needed, such as pruning, irrigation, and general maintenance, to support the overall operation of the farm. - Maintain accurate records of daily harvests, including the quantity and quality of avocados picked, to track productivity and identify areas for improvement. - Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient harvesting operations, communicating effectively to coordinate tasks and meet daily targets. **What We’re Looking For (Skills & Requirements)** 1. **Prior Experience** - Experience in agricultural work, preferably with fruit harvesting or similar manual labor. - Familiarity with working outdoors in various weather conditions. - Previous experience working on a farm or in an orchard is a plus. 2. **Specific Knowledge Areas** - Knowledge of avocado harvesting techniques and quality standards. - Understanding of basic agricultural practices and safety procedures. - Familiarity with the use of harvesting tools and equipment. 3. **Skills & Abilities** - Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. - Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate selection and handling of avocados. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating and coordinating with colleagues. - Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for efficient harvesting. - Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines. **Location** Stockholm **Remote Status** On-site only **Other** N/A
