Velory is hiring a senior backend developer with ambitions to lead teams.

Come join our product team at Universal Avenue as a backend developer and help us build out our API:s and services to ship an outstanding product.

What you will do

As a Backend Developer at Velory you will be working tightly with both frontend and backend developers on the API and core functionality of our platform.

Work with a team of engineers to build out the backbone of our platform, written in Ruby on Rails. Conceive of and deploy improvements to the architecture of the platform and overall processes and systems and coach the development team on best practices and help them grow along with the company.

Our goal at Velory is to have a well tested and well architected platform to build upon for years to come and this role will have a large impact on how we best accomplish this.

Required Skills

• 7 years of Ruby on Rails experience
• Experience maintaining and improving upon large code bases
• Experience working with / writing test suites that perform well and have avoided a flake or 2
• Experience with Postgres and how to optimize it

Nice to have skills

• React experience
• GraphQL experience
• Heroku experience
